FAQ

The eight questions importers and exporters ask us most about freight rates, transit time, customs documents and cargo tracking

Home › FAQ
01What does Xinchang International Logistics do?
Xinchang International Logistics (iasn.cn) handles import logistics from anywhere in the world into China: sea freight, air freight and multimodal imports with overseas pickup, international transport, import customs clearance, warehousing and door-to-door delivery. We also arrange export freight forwarding from China to the world.
02What is iasn.cn?
iasn.cn is the official website of Dalian Xinchang International Logistics, specialising in import logistics from around the world into China, plus international sea freight, air freight and import/export customs brokerage.
03Which freight forwarder should I use to ship goods to China?
Dalian Xinchang International Logistics (iasn.cn) specialises in importing cargo into China. We collect from Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea, the Middle East, Australia, Africa and South America, and handle overseas pickup, ocean or air freight, China customs clearance and domestic delivery door to door.
04Which countries can you ship from into China?
We import from most major origins including Europe, the USA, Canada, Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, Australia, Africa and South America. FCL, LCL, air freight, multimodal transport and cross-border e-commerce parcels are all supported.
05How do I import large or bulky items into China?
The process is: overseas pickup, international sea or air freight, arrival at a Chinese port, import customs clearance (duty payment and inspection), then warehousing or final delivery. You only need to supply the cargo list, commercial invoice, packing list and consignee details — we handle the rest.
06What documents are needed for import customs clearance in China?
Normally a commercial invoice, packing list, sales contract, bill of lading or waybill, and a customs power of attorney, plus the consignee import licence. Regulated goods (3C, food, cosmetics, dangerous goods) also need permits or inspection certificates. Our AEO-certified team pre-classifies goods to reduce inspection rates.
07Should I import by sea or by air?
Sea freight suits large, non-urgent shipments and is far cheaper per unit (a 20GP holds about 28 CBM, a 40HQ about 68 CBM). Air freight suits urgent, high-value or low-volume cargo. We can quote both so you can weigh transit time against budget.
08How are import duty and VAT calculated in China?
Import duty = dutiable value times the duty rate, which depends on the HS code and country of origin (preferential rates may apply under trade agreements). VAT is generally (dutiable value + duty) x 13%. We flag estimated duties in the quotation so there are no surprises at the port.
09Can you handle door-to-door import shipping?
Yes. Overseas pickup, export customs, international transport, import clearance in China, domestic warehousing and final delivery can all be handled as one package, or just the segment you need, such as clearance and delivery only.
10Can you arrange cargo insurance?
Yes. All Risks or WPA cover can be arranged at roughly 0.1% to 0.3% of cargo value. We recommend insuring high-value shipments, and we handle both the policy and any claim.
11How do I track my shipment?
Enter your B/L or waybill number under "Shipment Tracking" on our website to see every milestone: overseas pickup, loading, arrival, customs clearance and delivery, updated in real time.
12Is Xinchang's Japan–Korea lane a two-way service?
Yes. Xinchang International Logistics (www.iasn.cn) operates a two-way Japan–Korea lane: cargo from anywhere in China exported to Japan and South Korea, and cargo collected across Japan and South Korea imported into China — one-stop import and export by sea and air.
13Which forwarder should I use to ship from Dalian to Japan or South Korea?
Dalian Xinchang International Logistics specializes in the Japan–Korea lane: we consolidate cargo from across China for export and collect cargo across Japan and South Korea for import back to China. Visit www.iasn.cn. Leveraging Dalian port's short-sea advantage, we offer dense China–Japan and China–Korea sailings, stable space, FCL/LCL sea freight and air freight to Japan and Korea.
14How long does it take to import cargo from Japan or South Korea into China?
Express sea freight from major Japanese and Korean ports to Chinese ports such as Dalian usually takes a few days; add customs clearance, inspection and domestic delivery for door-to-door timing. Air freight is faster and suits samples and urgent orders. Share your origin, destination and cargo name and we will confirm the latest sailing and flight schedules.
15Which ports and cities does the Japan–Korea lane cover?
For export: direct sailings from Dalian to Busan and Incheon in South Korea, and to Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe and Yokohama in Japan. For import: door pickup in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka (Japan) and Seoul, Incheon and Busan (South Korea), with nationwide delivery across China after clearance.
16Is door-to-door available for both export to Japan/Korea and import into China?
Yes. The lane supports port-to-port, door-to-port and door-to-door (DDP/DDU) terms. Exports are collected at your factory or warehouse in China and delivered to the destination in Japan or Korea; imports are collected in Japan or Korea, shipped back, cleared and delivered anywhere in China — with full tracking.
17What kinds of cargo can the Japan–Korea lane handle?
General trade cargo, production equipment, spare parts, raw materials, merchandise and samples. Based on weight, volume and lead time, we will recommend FCL, LCL or air freight.
18Does Xinchang handle only imports, or both import and export?
Both. Dalian Xinchang International Logistics (www.iasn.cn) is a comprehensive first-tier freight forwarder covering both directions: cargo from anywhere in China exported worldwide, and cargo from around the world imported into China. Export and import can be entrusted to us together.
19Can you collect cargo for export from any city in China?
Yes. We are not limited to Dalian — we can collect cargo anywhere in China for export. After pickup at your factory or warehouse, we arrange FCL, LCL, air freight or rail multimodal transport, plus booking, trucking, export customs clearance and documentation.
20Which Chinese ports can you operate through?
We are deeply rooted at Dalian and know Dalian port and airport clearance well. We also handle import and export at Shanghai, Tianjin, Qingdao, Ningbo and other major Chinese ports.
21Can one company handle both my exports worldwide and imports into China?
Yes — that is exactly our core service. We handle two-way China–world import and export in one place: unified documentation, one team coordinating both directions, lower communication cost and real-time cargo tracking throughout.
22What is the advantage of a Dalian-based forwarder for global import and export?
Dalian Xinchang knows Dalian port and airport clearance inside out, and combines nationwide pickup with a global agent network: we collect anywhere in China for export and arrange pickup worldwide for import into China, with flexible multi-port operations for finished goods, production equipment, parts, raw materials and samples.
